This is our first blog post for 2019, so I would like to start by wishing you a Happy New Year and hope that 2019 is going to be a great year for you and your business.
Although, hoping doesn’t seem like a brilliant business strategy and to achieve all you want to this year you need to have a plan in place to reach your goals.
Have you set your targets and objectives for this year? How are you going to achieve them? It is always good to do this at the beginning of the year and put a plan in place to make this achievable.
The best way to grow your business is all about using the 3 Ms – Market, Message and Medium. If you can get these 3 things right, then everything else will fall into place.
You need to identify exactly who is your target audience. You may have several audiences. Draw up detailed profiles of each of them to build up a detailed understanding. This is your Market.
Once you have done this you need to think about and identify the problems they may face and how your company can solve these.
You need to tailor these for each of your audiences. Do not go with something broad that will cover everyone as successful marketing is all about the relevance to the customer. The more tailored something is to their needs, the more likely they are to act. This is your Message
Once you know your audience and the problems they may have you need to communicate with them in the best way possible. If your target audience is 18 to 23 then they will use different ways to communicate than if you have an 70-year-old audience. This is your Medium.
Timing is also crucial. You don’t know exactly when a potential customer is going to need your help solving an issue, so you should be consistent and persistent. If you are in contact with potential customers regularly then your message will be in front of them or in their mind if they need information and advice.
